Virgin Galactic has reopened ticket bookings for space tourists. The company, which has sold 600 tickets so far in the first phase, has opened bookings for additional tickets worth 4.5 million per ticket. The ticket will allow you to enjoy a 90-minute space ride on a rocket. The company has opened second phase ticket booking from February 16.
Tickets sold in the first round ranged from 2 million to 2.5 million. For the second stage ticket booking, you will have to pay 1.5 million dollars immediately and the remaining 300,000 will have to be paid before the flight. The company plans to sell 1,000 tickets before launching a commercial space flight, according to CEO Michael Colgalezer.
Last July, the Virgin Galactic Company embarked on the business of space tourism by sending a team into space, including the company’s founder, Sir Richard Branson. But reports from People say that’s just what’s happening, and it’s been a long time coming.
As soon as the incident became public, the US Federal Aviation Administration grounded all of the company’s flights and launched an investigation. Following the investigation, the aviation administration gave a clean chit to Virgin Galactic last September.
The company then announced that there had been some delays in launching commercial flights for technical improvements. The company’s commercial space flight is now expected to start from next October.
When it came to Virgin Galactic Public Company in 2019, it said it would start commercial service by 2020. Virgin Galactic Company was established in 2004. Shares of Virgin Galactic rose 30 percent on Tuesday as news of a resumption of ticket bookings became public. The company has even changed its logo.
Jeff Bezos’ company Blue Origin, which is seen as a competitor of Virgin Galactic Company in the field of space tourism, has so far made three successful space flights, including for celebrities and paid passengers. However, Blue Origin has not disclosed the minimum ticket price for its rocket.
