The messaging app WhatsApp periodically publishes lists of such smartphones in which it is about to discontinue its service. So users on those phones are not allowed to use the WhatsApp application.
Meanwhile, WhatsApp has also made public the list of those phones in 2022 in which the service of WhatsApp is now being discontinued. If you are using any of these phones, you will not be able to use WhatsApp.
According to WhatsApp, if you are using a phone with Android operating system 4.1 or older, WhatsApp will no longer work.
WhatsApp is also shutting down its service on iPhones with Apple’s iOS 9 or earlier software. So if you have used such a phone, you will have to either update the software and move to a new operating system or replace the new phone.
