Nepal Telecom has introduced a zero balance package for prepaid mobile users in case of lockdown. Information regarding the package will be sent via SMS to the mobile numbers with less than 33 paisa balance at midnight on 8th of Baishakh, who have made at least one call within 7 days from the date of commencement of lockdown. Within two days of receiving the SMS, the concerned mobile user will have to reply to the SMS as mentioned in the SMS. After the concerned user responds in this way, the company will implement the package and send the information back to the customer via SMS.
Packages with a validity of 7 days will be provided to the users who can get the package as per the criteria. Under the package, customers will get 100 MB of data usage, 50 minutes of voice calls (within Nepal Telecom’s network) and 25 SMS sending (within Nepal Telecom’s network) free of cost.
Telecom has stated that the package will not be available on numbers other than the criteria set by the company. In addition, the company may implement such plans in the coming days, depending on the circumstances and needs. The telco has informed that the customers of the selected number will be informed through SMS after preparing the criteria for this.
