Initially, all services were provided free of charge, but from September 30, only 60 minutes at a time can be used for free. A Google spokeswoman said that in the past, more than 100 people were allowed to meet and talk for free at a time, but now the time is limited.
He also clarified that no changes have been made to the other services and practices of Google Meet and will be informed if any. According to him, the ‘Google Meet’ now allows educational users to hold meetings with more than 250 participants at a time.
Google also said that the service will be able to broadcast live and record in Google Drive so that more than one lakh people can watch from the same domain. Google has made it clear that such services will only be available to business users. For that, consumers pay only 25 a month, according to a statement from Google.
The use of such means has increased as people have not been able to have physical contact due to the coronavirus epidemic. Zoom is also as popular as Google Meet for online meetings and events.
