Social networking company Facebook has changed its corporate name. During the main rebranding of the company, Facebook changed the name of its company to ‘Meta‘.
Facebook’s new name is Meta, a Greek word meaning “beyond.” Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg has announced the new name of the Facebook company while announcing plans to set up Metaverse. Metaverse is an online world where people can play, work and communicate in a virtual environment by wearing a virtual reality headset.
According to Facebook, the new name of the company will be included in the current work. Currently, Facebook’s presence has spread to social media platforms as well as virtual reality. Along with the name change, Facebook has also unveiled a new logo that will replace the thumb-up Like logo with a blue Infinity-shaped logo.
Meta’s new logo was unveiled at the headquarters of Menlo Park in California on Thursday in a series of confidential documents released by a former Facebook employee. The company decided to change its name after a series of negative news based on the company’s reputation.
Although the new name of the Facebook company has been changed to Meta, it will not affect the names of social media platforms Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. Only the parent company name of these platforms will be changed from now on.
